As many true Swifties guessed, Taylor Swift took the opportunity to announce the release of “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” on August 9th (8/9…get it?). It was also her final performance of her Eras Tour American leg in Los Angeles. She hinted at it throughout the show before she officially announced it, changing all of her costumes to the color blue to represent the 1989 era.
