East Farmingdale, NY- If you’ve been thinking about adding a new family member to your household, you may want to consider checking out the available pets at the Oyster Bay Town Animal Shelter. Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Councilman Steve Labriola say the shelter will be waiving adoption fees through the month of September.
“I invite and encourage residents looking for a new pet, to check in with the Town’s Animal Shelter during the month of September, as general adoption fees will be waived. Our shelter staff has a wonderful reputation for providing great care to the pets housed there, and has a long history of uniting those looking for a fur-ever companion,” Supervisor Saladino stated.
Additionally the town will host a free rabies clinic on September 17th at the Animal Shelter from 10am-2pm and will be offering microchipping services for pets for a $25 dollar fee.
“If a pet is ever lost, they can be taken to a vet clinic or animal shelter where they will be scanned for a microchip ID and returned to their rightful owner”, Councilman Labriola
The Town of Oyster Bay Animal Shelter is located at 150 Miller Place in Syosset. The shelter is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
